Throughout my entire life I’ve lived the way others have wanted me to: my family (train to become a doctor), my teachers (become an accountant and don’t forget to mention who told you to do so), my “friends” (Your parents are too strict. I’d run away from home if I was you).
Um, I didn’t take heed to that last part.
However, throughout the web, I’ve learned of others who’ve lived the way they wanted to live. They designed their own lives in order to reach their own ends and no one could tell them otherwise.
That’s where I come in. Well, at least that’s where I want to come in.
I’m a 19 year-old college student who lives with his mom and three sisters. Though the future seems bright for me through the eyes of any normal person, I think otherwise.
College, in general, trains people like me to become good employees. But I seek a different path. I seek to own my life and decide its course. Though I have done it before, I refuse to work for someone else according to their hours on the standard nine to five deal. That is something I can no longer accept. It is because of this that I desire to become a master of personal development and conquer the life I’ve always wanted – that of a traveler, entrepreneur, surfer, writer, volunteer, and guru.
Of course, declaring this is just half the fun – I have to take action to make this dream a reality. In order to do so, I hope to become a part-time personal development blogger by giving value to other people in order to better their lives. I want to inspire others to break away from the “rules of society” and make their own rules.
My name is John Chukwuma Anyasor and this is my creed:
